About passport photo sizes
35 × 45 mm (413 × 531 pixels at 300 dpi) is used for passports and visas in many countries. Some countries use other sizes, such as a square 2 × 2 inch photo (600 × 600 pixels): for those, choose Custom width and height and type the pixels. Always check the official rules for your application, including background colour and how much of the photo your face must fill.
Tips for an accepted photo
- Plain white or light grey background, without shadows.
- Neutral expression, eyes open, no glasses glare.
- Leave space above your head: the crop is centred slightly towards the top.
