This page opens Resize image to KB already set to 100 KB. Drop your photo and PaperWingPDF finds the highest quality that still fits under 100 KB.

How to compress an image to 100 KB

  1. Choose or drop your image (JPG, PNG, WebP or iPhone HEIC).
  2. Check the limit: 100 KB is already filled in. Change the dimensions if your form asks for an exact size.
  3. Click Resize image.
  4. Download the JPG and upload it to your form.

Who asks for 100 KB?

Application portals for jobs, exams, scholarships, visas and government services often limit photos and signatures to around 100 KB. Photos straight from a phone are usually 2–5 MB, so they need to shrink a lot. Always check the exact limit and any required dimensions on your form.

How it keeps your photo sharp

Quality is lowered only as far as needed. If that isn’t enough, the picture is made smaller in steps until it fits. With an exact width and height, the pixel size stays fixed and only the quality changes.

Tips

  • Crop away background you don’t need before resizing: less detail means better quality at the same size.
  • For a signature, choose Signature: the empty paper is trimmed and the background turned white.
  • For passport and visa photos, choose Passport photo (35 × 45 mm) or type the exact pixels your form asks for.

Frequently asked questions

Is 100 KB the same as 0.1 MB?

Close: forms count 1 KB as either 1,000 or 1,024 bytes. PaperWingPDF stays under 100,000 bytes, so the file is accepted either way.

Is my photo uploaded?

No. Resizing happens in your browser and the photo never leaves your device.

Can I do several photos at once?

Yes. Add several images; each is resized to the same limit and they download together in a ZIP file.
