What's new
Every improvement to PaperWingPDF, newest first. Many of them come from your feedback.
04Stronger signing and redaction
- Sign PDF can now add a real digital certificate signature (.p12 / .pfx) that Adobe Reader and other PDF readers recognise. No certificate? Create a free one in seconds.
- Verify PDF now checks digital signatures made with any PDF software: who signed, when, and whether the file was changed afterwards.
- Redact PDF: search for several words at once, or mark every email address, phone number, ID number or bank and card number with one click.
- Redact PDF: search results are now measured precisely, so no character can peek out past the black box.
03Faster ways to work
- Quick search: press Ctrl+K (⌘K on a Mac) or the search button to jump to any tool.
- Star your favourite tools. They appear at the top of the homepage, together with the tools you used recently.
- A Cancel button for long jobs such as OCR, summaries and large conversions. Your files stay loaded.
- OCR now reads 81 languages, including Japanese, Korean, Italian, Greek, Hebrew, Thai and Bengali. Each language is downloaded only when you choose it.
- Chinese and Japanese text recognised by OCR no longer has stray spaces between characters.
- This What's new page.
02Faster AI summaries
- The AI Summarizer is much faster on long documents: it now asks the on-device AI once instead of up to 13 times.
- You never wait more than about 20 seconds. If the AI is too slow on your device, you get the quick summary instead.
- If Chrome's AI model isn't on your computer yet, you get a quick summary straight away while Chrome downloads it for next time.
01Fixes from your feedback
- The installed app now opens straight on the tools instead of the website's homepage. Thank you to the Reddit user who reported it.
- Edit PDF: after clicking a line, you can type straight away.
- Rotate PDF: the button now waits until you turn at least one page.
- Summaries keep email addresses, web addresses and numbers like 12.5 intact, and work properly for Chinese, Japanese and Korean.
